Step Engineer (A)

Tasks

• Architect, develop, and extend an automated functional testing platform based on STEP by Exense, including test orchestration, enterprise plugins, and integration with CI/CD pipelines
• Manage and evolve the company’s load and performance testing platforms, ensuring reliable, scalable, and repeatable performance validation across applications
• Collaborate closely with application teams, DevOps, and SRE to embed testing and monitoring best practices throughout the SDLC

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Strong hands-on experience with synthetic monitoring tools and frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Selenium)
• Deep expertise in load and performance testing tools and methodologies (e.g., k6, JMeter)
• Experience in test automation and integrating monitoring/test results into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.)
• Solid practical knowledge of STEP by Exense as a user and administrator
• Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Bash, or PowerShell for building automated tests and tooling
• Strong understanding of distributed applications, microservices, APIs, and backend performance characteristics
• Language skills: English (business fluent, C1/C2) and German (good knowledge, B1/B2)
